Now along with picture gallery, that site presents much information about the watch and message board. 19-Oct-2000 Wristcamera Web Page is not accessible anymore, so the link to it is removed from Casio Wrist Camera section. Casio released another Wrist Camera model - WQV1D-8CR. So the link to Casio WQV1D-8CR official site is added to Casio Wrist Camera section. WQV1D-8CR is a stainless steel model, so it is a bit more expensive than plastic WQV1-1CR. In the early June of 1998 Casio announced new wristwatch called Casio BIZX PCX (HBX-100J-1T model).
It has 4-bit CPU and 24Kb of memory. PC communication is executed via infra-red 'eye' on the watch and infra-red adapter which is connected to PC. The speed of data transferring is 9,600 bits per second. Plus Casio BIZX PCX can exchange data with another watch of the same type. The power source is one CR2032 type battery. Casio BIZX PCX is sold outside Japan under Casio PC Unite name (HBX-100B-1 and HBX-100B-1V models). These models have the same technical specifications as HBX-100J-1T, except the memory - it was reduced to 8Kb. At the end of March, 2000, Casio announced two new models of PC Unite line - BZX201SCR and BZX207SCR. First of all, the memory was increased to 24Kb. The speed of data transferring was also increased - now it is 115,200 bits per second. Included software was improved. At the end of May, 2000, Casio announced brand new wristwatch - Casio Wrist Audio Player (WMP-1V model).
Casio Wrist Audio Player is the watch with the ability of playing .MP3 (MPEG audio layer-3) audio files. The storage media is built-in MMC (Multi Media Card) with the capacity of 32Mb which allows to store up to 33 minutes of quality audio in the watch. It comes with PC connection kit which includes USB cable and software for downloading .MP3 files from PC to the watch. The LCD screen of the watch keeps you informed about a song's title and artist. In the early August of 2000, Casio announced brand new wristwatch - Casio Wrist Camera (WQV1-1CR and WQV1D-8CR models).
Casio Wrist Camera is the watch with built-in digital camera. It has LCD screen which is able to display 16 gray scales. The resolution of the display is 120x120 pixels. The storage media is semiconductor memory (1Mb) which can store up to 100 images in the watch. It is possible to download the images from the watch to PC with the help of included software. PC communication is executed via infra-red 'eye' on the watch and infra-red adapter which is connected to PC. The speed of data transferring is 115,200 bits per second. It is possible to enter a name and a phone number for each image. So, the watch can serve as a graphic phonebook. The power source is one CR2032 battery. On the 7th of August, 2000, IBM Research announced that they built a working wristwatch which runs Linux operating system with X11 graphics library. There are no plans to sell this watch yet, since it was developed to just demonstrate that Linux can be run on so many platforms, including real mobile devices.
IBM wristwatch uses EP7211 processor. The storage media is flash memory of 8Mb. Also, the watch got 8Mb of DRAM. Touch-sensitive display and roller-wheel are used to operate the watch. IBM wristwatch supports infra-red and radio frequency connectivity to exchange data with PC or mobile devices. The power source is rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. ![]() ![]() |

On the 6th of October, 2000, Seiko Epson announced brand new wristwatch - Epson Chrono-Bit (WM-550S, WM-550L, WM-510B and WM-550X models).
Chrono-Bit has 256Kb of RAM, 512Kb of ROM and flash disk of 1Mb. The screen resolution is 96x64 pixels. Data input is executed via original rotation-type keyboard which is situated on the watch face.
